Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNEIL TURCOTTE It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Neil Turcotte, husband, father, grandfather and uncle, on July 16, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents Hannah (Rupert) and Eugene, brothers Wesley and Melvin, and sisters Rose St. Germain and Gloria Lussier. He is survived by his wife Marie (nee Mowat); daughter Heather (Art) Gordon and his beloved granddaughter Hannah; as well as his sister Olive. Dad was born on April 6, 1929 on the homestead at Albert Beach. He left home as a young man to see the west, working briefly as a ranchhand in Brooks, Alberta, but his heart was back in Manitoba. It was while working at Loon Straits that he met my mother Marie and were married December 31, 1955. In 1956 they purchased property at Victoria Beach and resided there for three years before moving to Winnipeg. This property was their real home and they returned most weekends, eventually retiring there in 1994. Dad loved nothing better than to have a laugh, always joking and teasing. He was always busy tinkering with something but his most joyous times were spent being Dapa to Hannah. We give our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Red River Place for their kind and compassionate care over the past six years and for making it a home away from home for Dad. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Pastor Alex Cross officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
