DENNIS ROY ZARICHNEY March 25, 1949 - July 14, 2011 It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Dennis Zarichney on July 14, 2011. Dennis was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Mildred Zarichney. Left to cherish his memory are his brothers Rick (Gail) and Gary; children Walter, Denise, Sheldon and Leslie; grandchildren Donavin and Sheldon Bear Jr.; niece and nephew Tina and Timmy; close friends Stella Bear and family; his dear friends Tony Shaolin and Shawn Lohr. Dennis grew up in East Selkirk. In his early years he worked at the Rolling Mills, Red River Brick and Tile, and for many years with Beatrice Dairies. After his work with Beatrice Dairies, Dennis kept busy with delivering pizza for Gondola where he met many more friends. Everyone who knew Dennis knows he had a special touch for his cabbage rolls and perogies. He enjoyed many activities including bingo, karaoke, Sports Select, and the great outdoors. He will leave many beautiful memories including those of fishing, camping and the beauty of the wilderness. The family would like to thank the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their kindness during our time of sorrow. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Cremation will follow and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 21 at 2:00 p.m. also in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. We will love and miss you. You will be forever in our hearts. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

  • DENNIS AND I grew up together being two months apart in age Dennis being a bit older we looked a bit like each other his mother and my mother were sisters I spent a lot of time at their home on summer holidays we at times went fishing paddle across the river in there boat to see a movie in selkirk and as time went on we went our separate ways for a brief time in our lives but years later with the odd visit then again we reunited and started fishing and hunting and doing what two friends could think of doing there came a time again where we both had familys and spent time with them and saw or visited each other on different occasions life went on and of coarse in most cases when people get older things also affect your health unfortunately his health was not the best and was taken to a better place DENNIS I miss your laughter your smile and I miss you very much.
