MILDRED PATTESON DRURY AGAR May 30, 1918 - July 16, 2011 Mildred Patteson was born in Winnipeg and passed away in Dauphin at the age of 93 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Wayne Drury (Beda) and their children Martha, Josh and Emma; and Brian Drury (Sheran) and their children Sheldon, Allison, Karen, Kayla and Kenley; her seven great-grandchildren Kyle, Eric, Kelby, Brett, Payton, Brianna and Stephane; her three stepdaughters, Olive Rynsberger (Jack), Linda Kelbert (Wilf), and Lorna Gutsch (Herb) and their families, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Fred Drury, her second husband Lorne Agar, and her siblings Aileen George, Gilbert Patteson and Roland Patteson. She graduated from Kelvin High School and worked in Winnipeg until she married Fred Drury in 1946. She moved to Dauphin where her two sons, Wayne and Brian Drury were born. After Fred died in 1951, she continued to live in Dauphin until she moved back to Winnipeg in 1957. She worked at North Star Oil in Winnipeg until she married Lorne Agar and moved back to Dauphin in 1967. Family and community were very important to her. Her life in Dauphin was always filled with activity through her involvement with the Golden Agers Bowling, the Community Chorus, the Hospital Auxiliary, the Sandringham Ladies Club, and First Baptist Church. She rejoiced at the birth of every grandchild and great-grandchild and faithfully remembered to celebrate every birthday, anniversary and special occasion with a card, a phone call and, whenever possible, a personal visit. A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Gideon Bible Society or the charity of your choice. At her request, there will be no flowers, no crying, and no black clothing allowed.
