VICTOR JACOB HIEBERT 1926 - 2011 Victor Jacob Hiebert, of Niverville, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2011 at the age of 87 years. He was born in 1923 to Peter P. and Sara Hiebert, and grew up in the Randolph area near Steinbach. During his teens he worked in the Niverville community. At 15 he met Susan Wiebe and married her five years later. They lived in many places throughout their 67 years together - Winnipeg, Northwestern Ontario, Three Hills, Alberta, Steinbach and in the Niverville area. Victor's primary work was employment with JR Stephenson Ltd., as a mechanic, repairing gasoline pumps and in later years also doing installations in remote communities. A central focus of his life was his deep faith in Christ. He devoted himself to serving others and helping in whatever church he was attending. He is remembered by his family and friends as a gentle, hard-working, helpful, godly, prayerful, playful and faithful man. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Susan, and his children: Carolee and husband Ken Neufeld of Winnipeg, Shirlee Ojah and partner Larry Jacques of Calgary, Les and wife Wendy in Asia, Murray and wife Debbie of Otterburne, Ray Duhamel and wife Cindy in British Columbia; as well as 15 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren all of whom he adored and he was much loved by them. Viewing on Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Christian Fellowship Church in Steinbach (Hanover and Barkman). Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21 at the Niverville Word of Life Church, 233 - 3rd St. S. at 5th Ave., followed by interment at the Hespeler Cemetery and a reception at the church. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I will remember Vic, who was my co-worker at J R Stephenson, in Winnipeg, as a gentle, kind, hard-working gentleman. He is often mentioned when we "old-timers" from JRS get together and he is remembered with affection and admiration. My sympathy to all his family at this time. Sincerely, Jan Jones, Winnipeg - Posted by: Janice Jones (Co-Worker) on: Jul 20, 2011
