WILLIAM G. STOESZ July 14, 1917 - July 16, 2011 William (Bill) Stoesz went to be with his Lord peacefully on July 16, 2011, two days after his 94th birthday. He is survived by his loving family: children, Helen Stoesz (Don Disher), Esther (Henry) Elias, Bill (Elaine) Stoesz, Joanne (Ziggy) Kusiak; grandchildren, Steve (Lori) Elias, Debbie (Sutee) Wangsud, Trevor (Corrie) Stoesz, Andrea (Derek) Wallace, Joshua (Sarah) Kusiak, Jennifer (Jason) Liberty, Anna-Marie Kusiak, Brandon Disher; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Isaac, William, Riley, Zoe, Colby, Carter, Paxton, Jett, and Tasanee; stepchildren, Erna (Isaac) Wiebe, Menno (Edith) Thiessen, Alvina (John) Warkentine, and their families. Also left to mourn are his brothers and sisters, Henry (Tena) Stoesz, Trudy (Andrew) Heinrichs, Ed Stoesz, Betty (Bill) Ginter, Dave (Carol) Stoesz; sister-in-law Barb Stoesz, and brother-in-law Dave Sawatzky. William was predeceased by three wives, four brothers, and two sisters. William grew up on the farm in Bergfeld, Manitoba, where he wrestled in the barn with his brothers, and was known to be a very hard worker and an excellent baseball player. He loved music and could play any instrument he tried. His first wife, Helen Heinrichs, died suddenly after the birth of their daughter. All he wanted then was to know what the Lord wanted for him, and that led him eventually to the ministry. Married to Justina Falk for over 50 years, they worked together for the Lord in various places, including Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Texas. He supported his family as a general contractor and built many homes, churches, and schools. They were blessed with three more children. All four children knew their father as warm, loving, and a real tease at times. At 84, after Justina died, he married Marie Thiessen and they had five good years together. After her passing, he spent almost four years at Eastview Place in Altona. It was a long way for us to drive but we were at peace knowing he was well cared for there. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff who cared for him so diligently. We will dearly miss our wonderful brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will always be in our hearts. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, with visitation being held one hour before the service time. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and a time of fellowship will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to M.C.C. or Union Gospel Mission.
