DOROTHY JEAN YOUD (QUICK) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Jean Youd (Quick) July 15, 2011. Dorothy is surived by her four children: Valerie (David), James (Wendy, Connor, Maddison), Sandra (Dean, Matt, Katie), Jeffery (Sara, Vanessa, Jonathon, Ryan). Dorothy was born (1935) in Kirkland Lake, ON, married in 1958, and moved to Winnipeg. She worked at Health Sciences Centre in Catering/Dietary and then housekeeping for 25 years. Anyone that met her would remember her smile and positive attitude. She was always putting others before herself. She had a huge heart. She was the most generous, compassionate person, we kids have ever met. She was our Super Mom . Once Dorothy retired, she was still a hard worker. Raising her granddaughter Vanessa kept her very busy. She still found time to enjoy outings with Shirley, the casino was a hot spot. She also enjoyed going for coffee with Jean, who was a good friend for over 45 years. We take comfort in knowing that the suffering has stopped, and that she has joined her mom (Pearl) and daughter (Laura). It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Though your smile is gone forever And your hand we cannot touch, We will never lose the memory Of the one we love so much. A heartfelt thank you to the nurses and Unit Assistance on GD-2, Adult Emergency, and the palliative care team. They helped make our Mom's final days comfortable. In keeping with our Mom's wishes, she has been cremated and a private interment will take place at a later date.
