HUGH LAVAL COX May 12, 1934 - July 15, 2011 It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Hugh Laval Cox after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his wife Patricia in 1994 and his daughter Cathe in 2010. He leaves to mourn his partner Fran Watson; son John Cox, granddaughters Courtney and Kalie of Calgary; daughter Jackie Dewar and husband Wayne; son-in-law Ronald Hauff, granddaughter Amanda, grandsons Adam and Alexander of Windham, New Hampshire; daughter Janet Cox, grandchildren John-Paul, Janelle, Jeremy and Jennifer Beauchemin. He will also be missed by his many friends through golfing, playing cards and his friends at Kirchhoff Gardens. Hugh's greatest passion was spending time with his family. When not doing that he loved to putter around his garage working on his antique cars. He belonged to the Manitoba Classic Auto Club. After he retired he took up golfing, which he proudly achieved two hole-in-ones. He also enjoyed playing pool at Kirchhoff Gardens and served as President for two years and was Past President at the time of his passing. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff on 3E Riverview Health Care Centre, their kindness will not be forgotten. A private family service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. If we have been pleased with life, we should not be displeased with death, since it comes from the hand of the same master.
