Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryISABELLE CRUICKSHANK 1914 - 2011 On Sunday, July 17, 2011 Isabelle passed on at the Convalescent Home Of Winnipeg at the age of 96 years. Remaining to forever cherish Isabelle's memory are her sister, Vivian Cooper; daughters, Rhonda (Gord) and Heather; son, Ray (Brenda); grandchildren, Glen (Kathy), Michelle (Jason), Melanie, Don (Crystal), Greg (Melissa), and Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Blake, Lucas, Scott and Brooke. Isabelle grew up on Elgin Avenue and then in Norwood. During the Depression she had to leave school in order to work. She worked a variety of jobs including casual work at Eaton's. In 1936 she married Charlie Cruickshank. Isabelle loved music, singing and dancing during her youth. Isabelle and Charlie spent their courting years and much of their married years enjoying dancing together. Charlie, a trumpet player, led the The Charlie Cruickshank Orchestra playing the Big Band Music of the 1940s. When Charlie died, leaving Isabelle with two young children to raise, she returned to work, first at the Bay and later at Boots Drugs. Isabelle retired at the age of 65. A private Service has taken place. Special thanks to Heather, all of the Home Care Workers and all the staff at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg whose care was exemplary.
