Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARVEY EVERETT BERRY The world is a quieter place. Harvey Everett Berry, age 97, passed away at Fairview Home, Brandon on July 16, 2011. The next time we hear thunder, we will know that it is Harvey telling God how he wants things to be done! Harvey was the last of 12 children born to Joe and Mary Berry at Gilbert Plains. He is survived by his wife Gertrude (nee Paynter), his daughters and their families: Noreen (David Maguire), sons Wade (Dinh), their daughter Sophie, and Shane (Gayle), their daughter Lennon; Beryl (Larry Maguire), son Tim (Barb), their children Colton, Ashton, Emily, Shamus, daughter Laura (Devin), their children Oscar and baby due in September; Bonnie (Randy Marchinko), their children Paul (Lily) and Elan (Jeff). One sister-in-law, Noreen Cass, nieces, nephews and cousins remain. In Flin Flon Harvey worked on the Bull Gang, underground, pipefitting on the surface and repairing the wooden water line from the mining company to Cliff Lake, six miles a day on foot or snowshoes. When he became head pump man, he and Gertrude lived at Cliff Lake. He retired to Souris, then Brandon. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 66 years. He was stationed at several places during the war with the R.C.A.F. The most memorable was Goose Bay. His service was on July 21, 2011 in Brandon.
