Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROL HENZEL It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of Carol Henzel, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother on July 21, 2011, after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Mary; her brothers, William, Michael, Dan; sister, Stella; brother-in-laws, Ron and Louis. Left to forever cherish her memory is her husband, Walter, of fifty-one years; children, Debbie (Roger), Kevin (Annette), Richard (Traci); grandchildren, Keaton, Kolran, Kyle, Ryan; sisters, Anne (Bill) Zinyk, Nellie Krisko, Veronica (Al) Drul; brother, Tony (Jean) Stefanyshyn; sister-in-law, Marj Stefanyshyn; nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Carol was born on May 23, 1938 in Hadashville, MB and resided there until meeting and marrying her husband, Walter. Shortly after the wedding, a brief move was made to BC, only to realize that home was really in Winnipeg. First and foremost, family was of utmost importance to Carol, as she played an active role in the lives of her children and grandchildren, by attending concerts, ball games but, most often, she was known to plan and prepare family dinners and gatherings. In her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting, baking, and cooking. She also loved the outdoors whether it be taking long walks, gardening, or fishing. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Kumar and his assistant, Rose, for their compassionate care and support. A special thank you to Pallbearers Keaton Henzel, Kolran Henzel, Farrell Henzel, Bryan Henzel, Donovan Henzel, Brian Zinyk with Honorary Pallbearers being Kyle and Ryan Henzel. Prayers will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011, 7:00 p.m., at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, July 25, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church, with Fr. Isidore Dziadyk, O.S.B.M. officiating. Interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Rainbow Society, 303-1 Wesley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4C6. Sadly missed, but never forgotten. It was eleven years ago when we had to say our goodbyes, but it only seems like yesterday. Not one day goes by where you are not thought of. Love you, Mom. - Posted by: Debbie (daughter) on: Jul 21, 2022
