MARY MAYDANIUK (nee KSENIUK) It is with greatest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of the dearest wife and mother, Mary Maydaniuk on July 16, 2011. Mary was predeceased by her parents Eudokia and Maksym Kseniuk and by her brother Harry. She leaves to mourn her beloved family: husband Leonard, daughter Gloria, and son Mark, also, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, colleagues, friends and acquaintances in her community. She was born on a farm in Arran, SK on November 11, 1941. She was working in Winnipeg when Leonard Maydaniuk met the love of his life Mary. They were married and had two children Gloria and Mark. Mary cherished her time with her husband and family. She sacrificed many years of her opportunities to enrich the life of her family. Her family loved her dearly. Mary was a hard worker who loved to put others before herself. This gave her countless friends of all ages. In the home, Mom was the centre of activities. She ensured the she supported the many endeavours that her family undertook. In early years she would frequent piano lessons, ballet, Ukrainian dance and many sporting and school events. Mom always encouraged the family to achieve their best. When her younger child was about 14 years old, she went back to work. She worked at St. Boniface Clinic. She enjoyed her work running a doctor's practice until her passing. Mary was very gifted mezzo soprano singer. She loved to sing and sang in many choirs. She sang in the Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral Choir and in the Korshetz Choir in recent years. Prayers will be sung on Sunday, July 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Sts. Vladimir Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, July 25 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Cathedral with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat Michael J. Buyachok officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Leonard, Mark and Gloria: It is with great sadness that I hear of Mary's passing. Leonard, whenever you spoke of Mary, you referred to your love for her and how she was the best wife and mother that any man could have had. Mary and Mark, whenever I would call, she would express pride and happiness of the success in your lives. I pray that Mary's dedication to Jesus and her presence with Him now, will guide you through this difficult transition in your lives.
