Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE (KARP) ROSENBERG March 9, 1923 - July 13, 2011 Anne Rosenberg passed away at the Simkin Centre on July 13, 2011. Anne was born in Frankfurt, Germany on March 9, 1923 to Max and Ida Karp. Max brought the family to Canada in 1926, and they settled in Winnipeg a few years later. Max was a teacher and a storekeeper. Anne grew up on Aikens Avenue with her brother Leonard. After graduation from St. Johns High School, Anne went to secretarial school. She worked for seven years at the University of Manitoba for the Dominion Agricultural Research Department. It was on the bus to work that she met Isaac (Ike) Rosenberg who was studying commerce after his stint in the R.C.A.F. They were married in 1948. Anne returned to work after the birth of their daughter. Anne was employed by the Winnipeg School Board and worked in many school offices in the city. Anne was a loving mother to Tyla and her husband Larry. She looked forward to travelling to Vancouver to visit her grandchildren, Sol and Eadie, for their birthdays and treasured their accomplishments. She was so proud of their achievements, saving their report cards, attending their graduations, and enjoying their letters and phone calls. She and Ike were overjoyed to participate in Eadie's wedding to Jason where Anne made a wonderful speech. Anne kept her mind active by reading, solving crossword puzzles, knitting, playing bridge, playing mah jong, and playing cards with the extended Rosenberg family. But her main focus in life was her devotion to Ike. Anne enjoyed 24 winters in Palm Springs with Ike, walking in the warm air, playing bridge at the poolside and sharing the condo with close family. Anne and Ike were a loving and devoted couple. We will remember Anne for her sparkling smile, the warm family times, and the love she had for us all. Anne was predeceased by her brother Leonard, and by her husband Isaac. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tyla and Larry Meyer, her grandchildren Sol Meyer, Eadie and Jason Kaltenbacher, and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside funeral service was held on July 15, 2011 at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery in Winnipeg. Pallbearers were Larry Meyer, Sol Meyer, Jason Kaltenbacher, Vic Stone, Aaron Frank, and Jeffrey Frank.
