LEONA DANSEREAU (nee FOURNIER) A much loved aunt, Léona Dansereau was called to her heavenly home on July 19, 2011, at the age of 92, at the River East Personal Care Home, Winnipeg, MB. She leaves to mourn nieces and nephews: Emile / Cecile Fournier, Anita / Hubert Bouchard, Cecile / Mike Dyck, Gérard Fournier, Fernand / Evelyn Fournier, Marjolaine / Germain Rocan, Paulette / Brian Fournier Jones, Robert Fournier, René / Elaine Chartier, Louis / Donna Chartier, Léo Fournier, Hubert / Lynda Fournier, and many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Roland Dansereau in 1973; her father Joseph Fournier; mother Eva Gagnon; brothers Gustave, Albert, Noël; sisters Cecile and Josephine, sisters-in-law Alice (Verrier) Fournier, Jeanne (Rocan) Fournier; and niece Ida (Fournier) Payment. Aunt Léona was born in Giroux, MB, on July 13, 1919. Having lost her mother when she was four years old, she was raised by her maternal grandmother Ernestine Gagnon. There she was raised on the farm with her sister Cecile, brother Noël and an aunt and uncles. She lived with them until she married her husband Roland and moved to Lettelier, MB. When her husband died, she moved to Winnipeg, and later to Chalet St. Norbert, where she lived for 20 years. Aunt Léona enjoyed travelling and travelled to numerous destinations with her many friends. She was a big part of our families and we so enjoyed having her with us on all our family gatherings like Christmas, Easter, and birthdays. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at River East Personal Care Home where Aunt Léona was well cared for by the wonderful and dedicated staff. The memorial service will be held at Saint Joachim Catholic Church in La Broquerie, MB, on Thursday, July 28, at 11:00 a.m. In accordance with Leona's wishes, cremation has taken place. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030
