PAUL TIEL KRONSON The family of Paul Kronson sadly announce that he passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011, after a lengthy and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Paul was born in Winnipeg on August 11, 1946. He spent his early years in the north end of Winnipeg, later moving with his family to the newly developed community of River Heights, in the south end, where he attended Grant Park High School. Paul, after completing his high school education, attended North Dakota University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree. Paul spent his working life in sales, making his reputation in the sale of industrial chemicals. He was renowned in that industry as being one of the few salesmen who was prepared, on a regular basis, to make road trips to service clients in rural and northern Manitoba. Paul was a physically active individual who was particularly interested in the martial arts of Tae Kwon Do, and became one of the oldest persons in Winnipeg to successfully complete the qualifications for a Black Belt. Paul was also very interested in the study and practice of transcendental meditation. He looked forward to the regular times that he met with the groups of people of like mind to study and practice that art. Paul's greatest strength was his love and loyalty to both his friends and his family. He leaves to mourn him his mother Jessie (Jay Kronson), brother Ken and sister-in-law Johanna, nephew Jeff and his wife Jean, and niece Sari. He also leaves two great-nephews and one great-niece. Paul had a close relationship with all the young people in his family, with a special nickname for each one of them. The graveside ceremony was conducted at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery by Rabbi Alan Green. Pallbearers were Dr. Jeff Kronson, Zel Belkin, David Levine, Marty Fingold, Ivor Berman and Morley Wiseman. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Brent Schachter, Israel Ludwig and Dr. Louis Ludwig. The family would like to thank the staff at both CancerCare Manitoba and the Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate treatment of Paul in his final years. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that a donation in Paul's name be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to the charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • In remembering Paul, I have made a contribution to the beta theta pi Fraternity Foundation in his memory. When We Gather at reunions, at homecoming at the University of North Dakota, or When We Gather in other cities like Las Vegas, Paul's name invariably comes up and we remember him with great fondness. I just thought that you would like to know that. Charlie Bremseth UND'72 Posted: 12-23-2019. - Posted by: Charlie Bremseth (Beta Theta Pi fraternity brother) on: Dec 23, 2019
