Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE STOROSCHUK (nee KLOWAK) It is with great sadness that the family of Katherine Storoschuk announces her passing on July 22, 2011 at the age of 76 years. Katherine was born in Winnipeg and raised in various rural locations as her father worked for the railway. She fondly remembered her time in Poplarfield and Narcisse in particular. Katherine graduated from Normal School (teacher training) and worked at William Whyte Elementary School where she met her husband, Mike. She was transferred to River Elm School and taught there until she retired to raise her family. She devoted her life to raising her children, son Greg, and daughter Karen in a loving and nurturing home. Later in life she cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed spoiling them every chance she could. Katherine will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband Mike, of 48 years, children Greg (Sandra) and Karen (Darren Balzer) as well as her cherished grandchildren Gavin, Jenna, Mia and Ty (Duzy). She is also survived by her sister Libby (Mike O'Driscoll) and sister-in-law Edith Klowak. Katherine was predeceased by her parents Theodosia and Phillip Klowak, sister Mary Deley, brother Mike Klowak, and sister Luba Klowak. The family wishes to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and the Charleswood Care Centre for their care and compassion over the past several months. Family and friends are invited to a service in Katherine's memory at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
