RACHEL BERARD It is with deep sadness that the family of Rachel announces her passing. After a long struggle to recover from a terrible accident that occurred in the operating room. Rachel's flame slowly faded out. Rachel's story began on July 28, 1947, where she grew up on a small farm in St. Joseph. Her passion growing up was her family, her pets and her school. She graduated and was out in the work force at the young age of 16. Later she met Robert and they were married July 27, 1968. On June 3, 1970, they were blessed with their daughter Lisa, followed by two more daughters, Diane on June 16, 1975, and Michelle on July 5, 1976. The children were raised in Morris, got higher education in Winnipeg and are raising wonderful families of their own. Lisa and Jean-Paul Marion have Breanne, Matthew, Tyler and Zachary. Diane and Nathan Thiessen have baby Jacob. Michelle and Kevin Rampersad have Brayden and Jackson. Rachel's dream of being a teacher began in 1999 when we moved up North and worked at first Nation's schools. Many students and parents on these remote communities were blessed with her many talents and her wonderful character. Many pairs of moccasins and star blankets will remain in their memory. They will also remember the wonderful Indian tacos and homemade pizzas. In 2006 it was time to retire and enjoy travelling and grandkids. These were wonderful times for grandma spending a few days a week babysitting and a few days a week continuing her passion to teach kids. A beautiful and loving person was taken from us so abruptly and we shall forever have her in our hearts and memory. WE LOVE YOU MOM AND WE WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH A Memorial Mass will take place on Thursday July 28, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in St. Maurice Roman Catholic Church, Morris, MB followed by the Interment in Morris, MB.
