Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY SELLERS (nee HAWTHORN) October 17, 1922 - July 23, 2011 With family at her bedside Mary Sellers passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Saturday, July 23, 2011. She is survived by her loving daughters Cheryl (John), Donna; grandchildren James, Shari, Claire (Bill), Angela and her boys Chase and Alex. Mary was predeceased by her husband Ray, her parents Anna and Bill, brothers Hugh and Bill, and sister Ella. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Ella's family, sisters-in-law Toni, Pat, Armand, Joan, Ollie and their families; brothers-in-law Fred (Nettie), Donald (Vi) and their families. Mary will be remembered with special fondness by her friends at the old Charleswood Golf Course, the Charleswood Seniors Centre and her many bridge buddies. Mary was born in Dumfries, Scotland and immigrated with her family to Canada as a small child. During the war she worked at MacDonald Douglas as a riveter. After the war she met her husband Ray, they married in 1946 and started their family and life together. Mary worked at Canadian Tire for several years as their bookkeeper. After retirement, Ray and Mary travelled during the winter months, spending time with friends across Canada and the United States. Later, Mary and her girls created wonderful memories, exploring Asia and many other places on their numerous cruises. Mary loved her family and her time at the golf course and the many happy family times together. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Emergency Room and the Step Down Ward for their care and concern. As per Mary's request there will be no formal funeral services. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 5 at 3:00 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name can be made to The Hong Kong Veterans Commemorative Association (HKVCA), P.O. Box 381, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2H6. Mom, thank you for always being there when we needed you. We will miss you now and for all our tomorrows. You will be in our hearts and in our dreams forever.
