Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNETTIE (AGANETHA) HIEBERT (nee FRIESEN) 1926 - 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of Nettie (Aganetha) Hiebert announces her passing in the early morning of July 25, 2011 at the Grace Hospice, at the age of 85. Nettie leaves behind her three sons; Frank (Michelle), John (Beth), and Reg (Corinna); seven grandchildren: Jason, Rayna (Kris), Jevne (Troy), Janelle (Ian), Bryan, Jordan (Shelby), and Chantal (Shane); and two great-grandchildren: Emily and Leah. She is survived by her brother and sisters: Liz, Tina, Mary, Jake (Marion), and Marge (Frank); sisters-in-law Carol Friesen, Mary Friesen, and brother-in-law Jake Klassen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Rev. John and Aganetha Friesen; brothers John, Peter, and Isaac; and sister Anne; brothers-in-law Isaac Dyck, David Neufeld, Will Friesen; and former husband Abram Hiebert. Nettie was born in Winkler, MB in 1926, the fourth of twelve children. She was a master of the domestic arts; making prize-winning rolls, perfect pie crusts, and was an accomplished seamstress. Nettie married Abram Hiebert in 1950, and moved to Winnipeg to raise her family. After her divorce in 1965, Nettie took employment at the University of Manitoba, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Her little apartment in Fort Garry was the location of many family dinners and an abundance of smiles and laughter. She enjoyed playing bingo, and going for coffee with the many friends she had made over the years. Nettie's retirement years were spent doting on her grandchildren, and enjoying summer months in Sandy Hook, MB in her trailer. She made many treks to the west coast to visit her sons and their children, and had fond memories of her times there. Nettie faced a number of health issues in the last few years, which she faced with a quiet courage and unwavering faith in God. Her fierce independence and determination stayed with her until the end. Our family would like to thank the staff with Home Care, Jocelyn House, Riverview Health Centre 3A, and Grace Hospice for your caring hands and hearts. Nettie had a great appreciation for you all, and spoke often of how well you cared for her. Your kind words and support made a very difficult time just a little bit easier. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment to follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Hospice of your choice. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
