RITA ST. HILAIRE (nee DUMESNIL) September 14, 1926 - July 23, 2011 Surrounded with the love of her family in the comfort of her home, Rita went to meet her creator on July 23, 2011. Rita was predeceased by her granddaughter Roxanne, her parents Louis Edouard and Lucienne, brother Denis, and sisters Anne-Marie, Aline, and Marie-Paule. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 58 years, Georges; seven children, 16 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, Gerald and Marj, Michel and Christine (Rene and Kylee, Theo, Marc and Ashley, Nadine and Eldar); Edith and Noel Chartier (Chantal and Tony, Zacharie, Chloe); Luc and Shawna (Riley); Bernard and Karis (Kristin and Kevin, Chelsea, Jared, Meagan, Kristi, Kyler); Normand and Marnie (Colin, Charlie); Elaine and Don Moreau (Paul and Stacy, Jessica and Justin); sister of Adrien, Leonne, and Richard. Mom was a very caring, loving, and giving person with a humour that flowed like a river. Her many talents to name a few: chef extraordinaire, baking, knitting many Mary Maxim sweaters, baby sweater sets, cross stitching, and plastic canvas. For the past six weeks mom enjoyed her beautiful flowers and the variety of birds while outside in the company of family and friends. Many hours were spent listening to mom's stories and laughing at her self-made expressions. Mom always put everyone's needs before hers. Mom, you have given us so much and asked for so little. Love You Forever. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Dana the palliative nurse, Dr. Woelk, and the wonderful home care staff. Also, a special thank you to mom's niece Patricia for all her support and help. A Celebration of Rita's life will be held at the Ste. Agathe Church on Saturday, July 30 at 10:30 a.m., preceded by the Eulogy at 10:15 a.m. Private family interment in Aubigny. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Morris Funeral Home 204-746-2451 Toll Free 1-866-746-2451 www.morrisfuneralhome.ca

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • On behalf of mom Laurette St Hilaire, myself and Debbie, we would like offer our condolences to the family. I always enjoyed visiting on the farm. Mom is not in any shape to travel and I'm sure if she could, she would come to the service on Saturday. I know this is a trying time for the family and I just want to let you know that we will be thinking of you in our prayers. - Posted by: Gil St Hilaire (Family) on: Jul 28, 2011
