MARGARET IRWIN (nee GORGE) July 4, 1933 July 23, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, Margaret. After bravely battling cancer at the age of 78, on July 23, 2011 with her sister and niece at her side, Margaret passed away peacefully in Beausejour hospital. Left to mourn are Margaret's loving sister, Simone Dubé, niece Margaret and nephews Larry, Léo (Kathy), and Henry (Joanne). Her beloved brother-in-law, Fern Comartin along with his sons, Roger (Betty), Denis, Donald, Bob, Rick, and Jamie also mourn her death. Left to cherish Margaret's memory as well, are many family members and friends. Margaret also had a special place in her heart for her dog Benji. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Jack, sister Theresa, and parents Roger and Eugenie. Those who were fortunate to know Margaret considered her as a very special lady as she was kind, gentle and compassionate. Margaret was deeply respected by everyone she met and she touched their heart in a special way. Margaret's happiest moments were spent with family and friends. She was deeply devoted to her children being a second mom or big grandma to many and she played an active role in their lives. Everyone admired Margaret's joie de vivre and her positive outlook on life. We will all cherish the fond memories we spent with her. Margaret will be sadly missed and always remembered by everyone whose life she touched. The funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 516 Atlantic Avenue in Beausejour, Manitoba. In accordance with Margaret's wishes, a private family interment will take place at the Monominto Cemetery at a later date. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Beausejour Hospital and to Father Owen Steeves for all the kindness and care given to Margaret during her illness. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Beausejour Hospital.
