GEORGE TURKO 1929 - 2011 On Tuesday, July 26, 2011 our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital with his family at his side at the age of 82 years. Left to forever cherish George's memory is his wife Lucille (nee Bourgeois) of 60 years of marriage; four children, Linda (Terry) Martin, Susan (Miles) Fenwick, of Winnipeg, Richard (Sadie) Turko of Okotoks, AB, Charles Turko of London, ON; four grandchildren, Alexandria, Miya, Crystal and Brian; as well as his brother, Pete, of Alonsa. He was predeceased by daughter, Diane McConnell; grandson Seth; mother; father; three brothers and two sisters. George was born and raised in Alonsa, MB. He was a hard-working, loyal employee of Livingstone International for 43 years, until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed spending time with family and always had a joke to share. George was an avid reader and baseball fan. His favourite pastimes were listening to his favourite music and watching old classic movies. In compliance with George's wishes, a private family Funeral Service will be held. The family would like to thank Dr. Kazi Hameed and all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassionate and loving care of George in his final days. A Heart of Gold A heart of gold stopped beating, working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither; the golden sun may set, But the hearts that loved you dearly are the ones that won't forget. God Bless You, We Love You
