GORDON ROBERT CANCILLA It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Gordon Robert Cancilla on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the age of 75 years. Peacefully with the love of his family by his side, Gordon passed on from this world to enter heaven after a courageous and lengthy battle with a rare blood and bone marrow disorder. Words cannot begin to describe just how much you will be missed by your family and friends. We will miss you terribly but we are also so very grateful for every single moment that we had you in our lives. Gordon leaves to mourn his wife of almost 44 years, Evelyn (nee Kelekis); his son Gregory and wife Pam-Ella and their children, Richard, Kevin and Kathryn; his daughter Serena and husband Stephan and their children, Nicholas, Kaden and Cyera; his brothers, Vincent (Alfred) and Jack Cancilla and all of their families. Gordon was predeceased by his father Charles Cancilla; his mother Katherine Cancilla (nee Mokam); and his brothers, Leonard and Edward (Bud) Cancilla. Gordon was a quiet and private person who loved his family dearly however; nothing brought him more joy than spending time with all of his grandchildren. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all of the doctors, surgeons and nurses at the Grace General Hospital ICU for their compassionate care. We know that they did their utmost in providing a dignified and comfortable end for him. The family also wishes to thank the City of Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service for their quick response and the level of care that they provided.
