She was predeceased by her parents, Kantaro and Haruo Suehiro, sisters, Shizue and Sally, and brothers, Rex, Sarge, Shiro, and Goro. Left to cherish her memory are husband, Tom of 60 years, children, Theresa, Linda (Bruce Koskie), May (David Shipp), David Oye (Susan), beloved grandchildren, Lauren, Brian, Adam, and Jen, and brother Hiro Suyehiro (Trixie). Mom was born on January 17, 1928 in Port Coquitlam, BC. During the relocation of Canadians of Japanese descent in the 1940s, Mom and her family were moved to Alberta and then to rural Manitoba to work on sugar beet farms. Mom was so proud of her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved to have us at the house. Sundays were always reserved for family dinners and great fun was had with after dinner card and board games. Mom was a longtime member of the Manitoba Buddhist Temple and a dedicated Maya Club lady. Later on, she was a member of Fujinkai. Mom was an avid 5 pin bowler and earned the nickname, The Legend, from her fellow bowlers. Our family would like to thank the staff at C2 Misericordia Interim Care Centre for their kind and compassionate care. Mom always would say that they took such good care of her. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Manitoba Buddhist Temple, 39 Tecumseh St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0J8 or Manitoba Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, 180 McPhillips St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 2J9 in Mom's memory.
