THELMA (VI) GAIR (SIGURDSON)

THELMA (VI) GAIR (nee SIGURDSON) December 16, 1922 - June 3, 2011 Vi was born and raised in Winnipeg and was the eldest of seven children born to Sam and Josie Sigurdson of Winnipeg. She outlived all her siblings. Vi was predeceased by beloved husband Sinclair Allan Gair in August 1973 and her son Tom in May 1990. In 1989, Vi moved to Delta, BC to be close to her family. She was a remarkable woman with a great sense of humour and was loved by all who knew her. Vi is survived by her children Darlene (Eric) Scheuer, Marj (Jim) Carrie, Jim (Colleen) Gair, Janice (George) Peasgood, Lorne (Jean) Gair; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Vi spent the last seven years at Guildford Seniors Village in Surrey where they tended to her needs with such compassion. An interment of Vi's ashes into her husband's grave will take place on August 4, at 3:45 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery. Thereafter, all family and friends are welcome to a barbeque which will take place at Janice and George Peasgood's home at 54 Seekings in Headingley to celebrate Vi's life.
