ISABELLA FORBES ADAM SCHEPP 1915 - 2011 Isabella Forbes Adam Schepp, much loved aunt of Carol Janke, died on August 1, 2011. Isabella was born in Neepawa on April 30, 1915 welcomed by parents May Hendry Adam and Forbes Adam, and sister Margaret Low Adam. After graduating high school, she was in the first class of the Manitoba Business College in Winnipeg, moved to Ottawa in 1941 where for three years she worked in the Department of Fisheries, then transferred to Forestry Branch. Her favourite posting was Riding Mountain National Park. Isabella and her sister travelled extensively - Russia, Greece, Fiji, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand to name a few; several times to Scotland where she had relatives; and Israel which was her favourite. Her one regret from all her travels was that she never rode a camel. At 80 years of age she went on a canoe trip on the Winnipeg River system from Kenora to The Forks. A truly intrepid woman, she loved a challenge and pushed herself to be active and engaged long after her contemporaries were sitting quietly at home. The last years of her life were lived at The Wellington and she enjoyed her time there immensely. Isabella attended the St. James Presbyterian Church where she was an elder and part of the Women's Missionary Society. She lived her life as a witness to God's love and grace. Isabella married just prior to her retirement in 1975. Her husband Wilfred Schepp predeceased her. She is survived by her Adam cousins - Evelyn Penner and Margaret Toews, her nieces and nephews - the Penner, Toews and Schepp kids as she called them, and Les and Shirley Hendry and family. Many thanks to Gerda Coull for faithful visits, nurse Corrine Miller who went above and beyond, the staff on the 3rd floor of Oakview Place who cared for her so well, and the Rev. Allan Farris for scripture, prayer and Holy Communion. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at St. James Presbyterian Church, 1476 Portage Avenue at 11:00 a.m., lunch following. Interment at the Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, MB. Donations to Canadian Lutheran World Relief - East Africa Drought Relief; on line at www.clwr.org/donate or 302-393 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 3H6.
