PATRICK GYLES It is with great sorrow, we are sad to announce that on Saturday, July 23, 2011, Patrick Neil Gyles passed away, and has been reunited with his beloved wife and soul mate Irene, who predeceased him in 2002. Pat was also predeceased by his Father Harry, Mother Frances and Brother Frank. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Cheryl (Dean) Saffie, Son Shawn Gyles, Grandchildren Melanie and Christopher Saffie, as well as numerous Brother and Sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and very dear friends. Before leaving Winnipeg, Pat worked for the Winnipeg Free Press, which led him to travel throughout Manitoba and Ontario. When presented with the opportunity of Motel ownership in Fort Frances, ON in 1989, he was quick and excited to take on his new endeavor. Pat can be described as a gentle giant with a heart as big as a mountain and filled with gold. He was the most generous and kind man to all whose lives he blessed. As a father, Pat was caring and always had words of encouragement and liked to pass on his worldly knowledge. He was a fun treat-bearing grandfather who always had a surprise in his pocket for loving hugs and kisses in return. As a boss, Pat was grateful, always keeping his employees' best interests in mind, he loved all his girls . Pat was also a great friend with his witty jokes and holiday treats making everyone feel at home and special. Pat held out loving open arms to all and will be forever deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered, come with me. With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away, although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best. In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Cremation has taken place and memorial service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
