I was saddened to hear of Aunt Laura's passing. I remember many happy times with Aunt Laura and Uncle Omer and family. She and our Mum, Irene, were life-long friends, having gone to elementary school together in the Carman area. They shared many humorous stories of those times. Aunt Laura was a beautiful person, so intelligent, loving and very generous; always interested in our family. She called our Mother regularly and visited as often as she could, always with flowers and/or treats. She had a wonderful laugh and smile and enjoyed people, nature and learning. One special memory I have of Aunt Laura is when she and Carole and Paul spent a few days at our Sperling farm. I am not sure who had more fun, Aunt Laura or the "kids" but she enjoyed the change of pace and chuckled at the little things like the roosters chasing us around the farmyard. I have a lovely picture of my sister and myself with Aunt Laura when we visited her during the summer of 2010. She will always have a special place in my heart. I loved and admired her since I was a young girl. I am sorry I didn't know of her passing until now but send my most sincere condolences to Carole and Michael and their families. - Posted by: Elaine Walker(Peckover);(sister to Linda Baleja) ("adopted niece") on: Mar 02, 2012

Aunt Laura was Mum's (Irene Peckover) dearest friend and I have so many fond memories of times our families spent together. She was a wonderful lady and the world was a brighter place to have had her here with us for 89 years. My condolences Carole and Michael. SO sorry that I did not know until now as I would have definitely been at the service to pay tribute to such a great lady! - Posted by: Linda Baleja (Peckover) ((adopted) niece.) on: Mar 01, 2012
