Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERDMAN DYCK Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:20 a.m., Erdman Dyck passed away at the age of 100 years and four months while in St. Pierre Hospital. He was born April 8, 1911 near Altona, Manitoba. He worked at the Dominion Experimental Farm for 10 years, was custodian at Morden Elementary and High School for 26 years, and drove Morden's first school bus for 10 years. In 1975, he and Annie moved to Gretna where he was the custodian at M.C.I. He and Annie were involved in building the Gretna Prairie Seniors Centre. He spent many years going to the centre, met with friends and played pool. Erdman and Annie spent 51 and one half years together. Family life was very important to Dad. He had a big impact on his 10 children. All 10 have accepted Christ as their personal Saviour. He was a man of prayer. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Abe and Nellie Dyck, of Morden; his first wife, Edythe; four brothers and six sisters. He leaves to mourn his loving wife - Annie; three sons - Herman (Carol), Tony (Annette) and Elvin; seven daughters - Evelyn (Doug) Bailey, Eva (Richard) White, Pat (Don) Brekkus, Bernice (Jim) Friesen, Doctor Irene Smolik, Iris (Walter) Janzen and Ivy (Mervin) Friesen and their families. Memories of Erdman will be cherished by many grand-children, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend gratitude for the wonderful medical attention extended to Dad by doctors Chris and Mari Burnett and all the staff at St. Pierre Hospital. Erdman's funeral will take place Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Niverville Community Fellowship with interment at Hespeler Cemetery.
