KIRSTEN RYTTER Born in Denmark on November 17 1950, Kirsten lost her final battle on July 28, 2011 at St. Boniface Hospital. Kirsten was predeceased by her parents Kai and Karen Rytter, brother Tom, niece Debbie and the two loves of her life, Ken and Bart. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her loving daughter Kareen (Kurt), son Michael, sister and best friend Lis (Don), sister-in-law Margot, nieces and nephews Cliff (Cynthia), Kevin, Kim (Audra), Jessica, Tanner, Keatin, Hutton, Lauren and Sabrina. While Kirsten was not affiliated with any particular religion, she was a very spiritual person who had a special affinity for Buddhism and it's teachings. In this way, she lived her life with a sense of purpose while at the same time, causing the least amount of disruption to anyone or anything. She was a great lover of books, reflected in her career choice of becoming a Library Technician, employed most recently at Transport Canada in Winnipeg. She had a wicked sense of humour, which would often come out when she was expressing her strong political views and opinions. Throughout her life, Kirsten enjoyed the company of many pets and considered them members of the family and was always heartbroken when she had to say goodbye to them. Kirsten was also extremely fond of music of all kinds and passed this love on to her children. As a Mum and Aunt, Kirsten was wise, loving, and easy to talk to. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Ward 5B at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care of our Mum, Sister and Aunt. Per Kirsten's wishes, there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kirsten's name to Amnesty International or the Tibet Foundation.
