ELISABETH SCHERPENZEEL Peacefully on August 2, 2011, Elisabeth passed away in to the presence of the Lord at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 96 years. Elisabeth is pre deceased by her parents, husband Tony, nine sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her two sons; John (Janice), Martin (Anna); grandchildren Beth (Dean), James (Rochelle), Angelina, and one great- granddaughter August. Elisabeth was born in Apeldoorn Holland on July 24, 1915, was married to Tony in 1941. The family moved to Canada in 1953. For the first number of years Elisabeth worked part time then decided to remain at home as a homemaker to take care of her family. She travelled on numerous trips with Tony back to Holland and continued to be connected with her family. She loved to spend time reading, doing needle point and work in her flower garden. A special thank you to Dr. Cavers, Dr. Munsamy, various nurses and staff on the fifth floor at the Victoria Hospital, for their care and comfort for our mother. Memorial service will be held Monday, August 8, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Avenue. In lieu of flowers if friends desire donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation and Cancer Care Manitoba.
