Hazel was born in Winnipeg, MB, the daughter of the late Harry Bell and Florence Shepard. She spent most of her life in Winnipeg. Predeceased by her husband Bill Dunnington, brothers Stan, Jerry and Harry, dear sister-in-law, Hilda and nephew, Ralph and great cousin, Pearl. She is survived by her loving daughter Joan and son-in-law Jim Woods from Kelowna, grandsons Jim, Michael, and granddaughter Kimberly, great-grandsons David, Ryan, Jordan, John, and Richard, great-great-grandsons, nieces Dorothy Lauder and Lorraine Bell (Mark) Weisdorf, nephews Allen (Linette) Bell, Wayne (Margaret) Bell, along with many other countless family and friends who were blessed to know her. The main part of Hazel's career was spent in photography starting with Kodak then working for over 25 years at the Eaton's camera department before retiring. Her life was abundant and full, and she touched many peoples lives along the way. Hazel was blessed to enjoy her last few years with Joan and Jim in Kelowna. She will be remembered for her smile, kindness and zest for life, but especially for her trademark sense of humor which she maintained all the way to her last days. She was very loved and will be greatly missed. I LOVE YOU MOM! A special thank you to her nephew Allen and his wife Linette Bell from Winnipeg who were there for Mom in any circumstance and provided much love and care before she moved to Kelowna. She loved you dearly. A Celebration of Hazel's Life service will be held in Winnipeg, MB September 11, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the Niakwa Country Club, 620 Niakwa Road.
