BRAUN March 15, 1914 - August 3, 2011 Peacefully in the loving presence of his wife Justine and family members, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, A.K., passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Misericordia Place in Winnipeg, in his 98th year. He leaves a large family to celebrate his long life. Children: Verna Tribula, Shirley Syslak (Walter), Gordon (Geertje), Ken deceased (Cheryl), Grace (Henry) and Dennis. In addition he leaves eleven (11) grandchildren and nineteen (19) great-grandchildren. Longevity is common in the Braun family, including his parents and a number of brothers and sisters. This same longevity is also common in Justine's family (Berg). Abe was born and raised near Altona, married Justine in 1937 and they made their home in Rosenfeld and later in Altona, where they raised their family. In 1973 they moved to Winnipeg. During his life he was involved in farming, trucking and education. Politics was his major passion and it consumed many hours throughout his life. Thanks to Misericordia Place Nursing Home, where he resided with his wife Justine. Special thanks to Lorrie of MP2 and Father Vince for their compassionate care and support. Deep gratitude to Dr. Brian Sharkey for his many years of medical care. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg.
