WILLIAM (VASILI) GIANNOUKAKIS It's with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving son, brother, uncle, partner, cousin and great friend on Saturday, August 6, 2011. William was born December 7, 1976 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to the loving parents of Sophie and George Giannoukakis. William was so full of life. On summer weekends he would be gearing up to go to the cabin. He was an avid fisherman and won several first place trophies. His charming good looks were well maintained by hitting the gym and working on his tan. He loved the sun and would catch a few rays while playing with his beautiful dog Mila at the park. Seeing him take care of his dog showcased the loving family man he was. Will was one of a kind and it didn't take long to see the heart of gold he had. He had a zest for life which was contagious and would be the first to put a smile on your face when you are feeling upset. He was a rock, a hard working provider, a protector, he would hold you tight when you were scared and would be the first one by your side when you needed someone. His smile. A smile you have never seen before. It was breath taking and lit your soul when he looked at you. William will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his parents, Sophie and George; sister Dorota (Jason); nephew Rocco; partner Nicole Gross and their precious dog Mila, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. William will also be remembered by his wonderful friends, coworkers and anyone's life he touched throughout the years. Prayers will be held at St. Demitrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Avenue on Wednesday, August 10 at 7:30 p.m. with the funeral being held at the same location on Thursday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m. followed by the interment at Brookside Cemetery.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • May you find peace as my heart aches. From the days when we were all growing up, groups of friends that gelled together, and today where we are at such a distance, each searching for our reason in this life, I close my eyes and remember the good old fun. Will... we always shared a smile. The silent understanding kind... times were tough, we knew it....and I know you shared the same heartache, thank you for the smile, and keep it as a blanket of peace. My deep sadness my sincere condolences from my heart ........Mimi - Posted by: mimi s (Friend) on: Aug 09, 2011
