JEAN-CLAUDE THERIEN 1935 - 2011 Jean-Claude passed away peacefully August 5 at the age of 76. Jean-Claude was born in Ottawa July 18, 1935, the youngest child of Ernest and Marie-Ange Therien. He spent 11 years in R.C.A.F. His last posting was Clinton, ON, where he taught basic electronics. He then went on to CBC Winnipeg, starting in maintenance department of VTR. Retiring after 27 years as management supervisor of VTR, finishing as technical producer of French T.V. He was predeceased by his father, mother, brother Jean-Paul; sister Lucille; brothers-in-law, Doug and Ron; great-niece Laura; and best friend Tom Gillis. Left to love him forever are his loving wife Maureen of 55 plus years; also fantastic father to Tom (Diane) and Sandra-Marie (Bran); granddaughter Tauvia (Mike); great-grandchildren, Zach, Blake and Talissa; God-daughter Leanne Gillis and God-son Tanner Rivais; sisters-in-law, Therese Therien and Marlene Bowman, as well as many nieces and nephews in Ottawa and Vancouver. A big thank you to all the family and many dear friends who came to visit him before and after he suffered a stroke and had to be put in hospital. The family would like to send many heartfelt wishes to: CancerCare - all the doctors and staff at Grace Hospital and especially the staff on the 3rd floor East wing at Riverview Health Centre for their loving care and support to the family. As per Jean-Claude's wishes, he has been cremated and there will not be a service. His ashes will be interred at a later date. No flowers please, if so desired a donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
