JOHNNY MO WONG 1956 - 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, uncle, and great-uncle Johnny Mo Wong on August 6, 2011 at the Health Sciences Centre. He was predeceased by parents Gim Hoi Mah Wong, Wo Wing Wong and his older brother Jin Wah Wong. John was born on November 6, 1956 in Flin Flon, Manitoba and at the age of three the family moved to Winnipeg. Left to cherish his memories is his youngest sister Lily Wong Guenther (Gordon), brother Jimmy (Ping), older sister Lai Wah in China, nieces Pam Wong McGrath (Mark), Wendy Liu, Leslie Pawlyk (Mel) and Linda, great-nephew Christopher, great-nieces Melissa, Tianna and Cassie, cousin Joe (May) and their children, sister-in-law Lai King Wong, nieces and nephews Wanda (Raymond), Wilma (Lewis), Bobby, Larry and their children. John was a devote member of the Trinity Baptist Church and a very proud member of the Special Olympics Team EKY Shark's (swimming team). He won many placings in competitions over the past few years. Johnny's family would like to extend sincere thanks to all the doctors and staff at Health Sciences Centre (MICU) ward for their care and compassion. A funeral service will be held at the Trinity Baptist Church at 549 Gertrude Avenue on August 12, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics Manitoba - EKY's Men Sharks Swim Program, 304 - 145 Pacific Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2Z6.
