IRENE MARTIN Irene was born October 19, 1945, and died peacefully on August 2, 2011. Irene was predeceased by her husband Joe Martin, whom she loved and dearly missed. They will now be reunited in the spirit world. Irene was also predeceased by her parents Marie-Ange and Louis Ducharme (nee La Plante), her baby sister Viola Ducharme and many family members, from the Martin and Spence families, from Amaranth and Sandy Bay First Nations. Irene leaves to mourn many family and friends. Irene was responsible for starting up the Princess White Dove library at Turtle Island Neighbourhood Centre. The funeral service was held on August 9, 2011, at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Amaranth, Manitoba. Irene will be buried with her love, Joseph Martin, in Sandy Bay Cemetery, Sandy Bay First Nation, Manitoba. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Turtle Island Neighbourhood Centre, 510 King Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
