MARY ELSIE RACH (nee RECKSIEDLER) Peacefully in her 95th year, Mary passed away on August 10, 2011 at Kildonan Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg. Her memory will be forever cherished by her family, Beatrice (Ron), Elizabeth (Lloyd), Edith (Alfred), Allan (Marlene), Dennis (Bernice), Margaret, grandchildren, brother Wilhelm (Jean), sisters-in-law Anne, Betty, Rose, Pearl, brother-in-law John Porayko and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband Albert, daughter Irene, son Lorne, son-in-law William Young, parents Gottlieb and Henrietta Recksiedler along with 13 siblings. Mary married Albert in January 1935 in Winnipeg. They moved to a farm in Glenmoor in 1937, where they raised seven children. She also spent many winters at a bush camp with her husband. Mary cooked for the workers who were employed at their sawmill. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and her gardens of flowers and vegetables. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberley Avenue, Pastor Bruce Gelhorn will be officiating. Interment will take place at Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main Street. The family would like to thank all the health care workers who looked after mother in her later years. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
