JOHN WILLIAM HOADLEY It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of John William Hoadley, on Friday, August 5, 2011, peacefully in his sleep at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 70 years. John is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Mary; his children John, Samantha and Andrew, and his granddaughters Sara, Alyssa and Adriana. Also mourning his passing are his sisters Doreen and Carole; brothers Tom and Paul, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. John was predeceased by his parents Hilda Dreger and Leonard William Hoadley and foster parents Ottillia (Nanni) and Joseph Bruhlman of Gladstone, MB. Born in Morris, Manitoba on November 11, 1940, and baptized in the Lutheran faith in the home of Ottillia and Joesph in Grass River, Manitoba, John had a lot of challenges in his early life, which he championed over. This strength carried him forward and through God's will made him, whom we all loved, so deeply. So much in fact, that Mary took a shine to him at a dance and on December 19, 1964, married. As a young lad growing up on the country family farm during the 1950s and 1960s, tales of the hardships and blessings would enthral all whom father kept an audience with. It would seem as though that one room school house got farther and farther away and the snow got deeper and deeper with each take! The lure of the big city lights brought father to Winnipeg in the late sixties and the various jobs he held during the onset of city life and the burgeoning new family life would impel our father to work for many years with the City of Winnipeg, Parks and Recreation and with Subterranean Ltd. which he enjoyed greatly until his early retirement. Always smiling he would brighten a room with his jovialness. In fact, the room became even brighter when his beautiful granddaughters came over. The smiling and laughter would not stop! As time moved forward his physical strength waned, but the spirit of our Lord within him gave him the strength to move forward, month to month, day by day, until the Angels of our Lord came down and graciously removed all his earthly pains. Husband, Father, Daddy, Grandpa, your suffering has ended and now our tears are of Joy knowing you dwell in the house of our Lord. We love you and always will. In lieu of flowers, John would encourage you to share a good laugh and smile and hold dear the ones you love. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment to follow at a later date. There will be no formal service. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Drexler and to the loving and dedicated staff of Grace Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, St. Boniface Hospital, Misericordia Hospital, Telecare and Riverview and to the many unnamed, whose care gave our father respect and dignity.
