Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILLIAN MARY GULLEN September 4, 1923 August 10, 2011 Peacefully in her sleep Mom was called home. Mom was predeceased by her husband Adam; son David; and daughter Sheila, as well as brother Robert. Mom was a wonderful person who went cheerfully through life, with never a bad word towards anyone. She was born in England and came to Canada as an infant. At age nine she moved back to England until The Second World War. She joined the Canadian Army in England to do her part for freedom. When the war was over, she asked to be discharged in Regina as she wanted to be back in Canada. They discharged her in Winnipeg and she was going to make her way to Regina when she went to a dance and met Dad. She stayed in Winnipeg and lived a happy life with Dad for fifty three years until he passed in 2000. Mom wouldn't want anyone to be sad that she has passed, but to be happy for her as she is once again cuddled in the arms of Dad, having another dance. I would like to thank all the wonderful people from homecare that made her life bearable for the last few years as well as all the staff from Riverview and Maples Personal care home. You are angels. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom' s memory to Deer Lodge Centre Getaway Club, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg R3J 0L3. She loved the Getaway Club and would often talk about the fun she had there. They're all angels as well. At Mom's request there will be no service. Just remember her as she was.
