JON (JOHN) SIGURDUR SNIFELD 1936-2011 Peacefully on Tuesday August 9, 2011 John passed away at Health Sciences Centre. He was born at Finns, MB. on January 11, 1936 and lived most of his life in Winnipeg. He retired in 1991 after 30 years of service at MTS. He is survived by Lillian Snifeld, his children Ken (Holly), Kim Hjorleifson, and Gordon (Tammy), grandchildren Jason (Tara), Mitchell, Jonathon, Austin, Jake, Danny, and Rebecca, sisters Sigurbjorg Lupky, Emily Gislason, Sigurros Johnston, and Beatrice Johnston. He was predeceased by his parents, Hyrmann and Gudlaug and brothers Kristjan, Albert, and Julius. Special thanks to the staff on GA5, and GA4 at Health Sciences Centre. At John's request, cremation has taken place and a private interment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of one's choice.
