Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWYLIE BERESFORD WILLKIE It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wylie, affectionately known as Wally, aged 84 years on Friday, July 29, 2011. He died peacefully after a brief fight with cancer with his wife, Hila at his side in Winnipeg. His children, Angelique and Christopher, their spouses and five grandchildren are also left to mourn his passing. Wally was born in Jamaica on March 3, 1927 and at age 17 left Jamaica for the United Kingdom to join the Royal Air Force. He was Honourably Discharged after the Second World War on August 13, 1948 then attended Law School (Lincoln's Inn) in the UK, and graduated on February 8, 1955. Wally returned to the Caribbean to practice law until his retirement from his position as a Justice on the Court of Appeal on September 4, 1981. He immigrated to Canada and worked for the Department of Legal Research of the New Brunswick government. In 1985, he again retired and moved to Winnipeg. In Winnipeg, at the age of 58 years old he attended the University of Manitoba, and two years later graduated with a Master of Laws (LLM) degree. Wally has made many friends in many countries and provinces, and will be fondly remembered for the numerous animated discussions we have all enjoyed with him. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date. A celebration of his life will take place on August 27, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at his residence in Winnipeg; those who were touched by his life are more than welcome to attend.

Dear Hila: So sorry to hear of Wally's passing. Over the course of all these years our family members have always thought about you and Wally and the children and the times spent at Cardiff and Bluefields and tried to locate you. I have Googled many times but today was the first time that I had success but unfortunately too late to speak to Wally. Hope this message gets to you and that you will contact me at mkkruschel@gmail.com or 519 - 936 - 9786 Hope to hear from you. Kay - Posted by: Kay Kruschel (Myers) (Friend) on: Oct 18, 2015

Dear Hila: After all this time, I'm not sure you will remember me from our trip to the USSR in 1988. However, I remember you and Wiley well and how much I enjoyed both your company in the many places we visited — to say nothing of your doubts about my cough syrup while we were in Leningrad. I see you have been active yourself, and I hope you are well. - Posted by: Jane Cowan Fredeman (friend on trip to the Soviet Union 1988) on: Nov 25, 2013
