DEBRA FAITH LAWSON It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our much loved sister, cousin, niece and friend, Debra Faith Lawson on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Grace Hospital. Deb was born June 12, 1957 in Winkler to Ed and Dorothy Lawson. She is survived by her big brother Dean who, in their childhood, was a constant annoyance to his little sister, fortunately that changed in later years. She and her brother were the consummate army brats, moving from base to base whenever their Dad's posting changed. Having lived all over Canada and Europe, her fondest memories were of her time spent in Germany. Deb had many talents, including photography and art. Many of her pictures will be treasured mementos for her family and friends. She had a consuming love of music and reading, especially the True Blood series and science fiction. She loved her pets, Che and Hannah who will rest with her and her Mum in Winkler. Deb will never be forgotten, especially by her special friend Nancy, her cousins, aunts, uncles and friends Susan, Ron and Jan as well as her special niece Kyla and nephew Jessie. For many years Deb worked at MTS and made many friends there. In recent years she worked for the Federal Government as an EI service agent where she was a mentor and advisor to many of her fellow employees. A private gathering open to friends and family will be held in Winkler at a time and date yet to be determined. The family would like to thank the staff on the third floor at Grace Hospital for their care and compassion during her final weeks in the hospital, words cannot express our gratitude. Also, a special thank you to her cousins Connie, who was there for Deb throughout this long journey, and Bonnie, who was a comfort and support not only to Deb but everyone who was there these last difficult days. Just prior to her passing, with the staff's assistance, Deb was able to spend some time outside with her family and friends as well as her faithful dog Hannah by her side. She enjoyed the sunshine, as well as sending brother Dean to pick up A W onion rings and Rob and Linda for a DQ sundae. We will all treasure that day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. Due to circumstances beyond her control, Deb leaves us far too soon. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
