ELIZABETH ENNS 1927 - 2011 Peacefully, on August 13, 2011, Elizabeth Enns passed away at the age of 84 years under the excellent care of her family, staff of the Victoria General Hospital and CancerCare Manitoba. Elizabeth was born February 19, 1927, to Wilhelm and Katharina Enns of Meadows, Manitoba. The family moved to Springstein, Manitoba several years later where her father was the church leader, and where she spent her childhood and youth on the family farm, attending public and high school. Enrolled in the Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing, Elizabeth graduated with her RN in 1949. In 1950, she and Edward Enns were married. After Edward graduated from CMBC in 1952, they began almost half a century of work in the Mennonite Church in teaching, pastoral and overseas service in several provinces as well as Germany. Elizabeth followed her nursing profession intermittently, though she placed her greatest emphasis and love on their six children: Lois (Reuben), Eldo (Karen), Ruth (Dave), Lenore (Michael), Vernelle (Alfred), Will (Lesley); grandchildren, Christie, Jenifer, Evangeline, Joseph, Levi, Skelley, Ava, Lisa, Levon, Brita; and great-grandsons, Noah, Soren, and Jacob. She will be deeply missed. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, and her brothers, Herman and Bill. Funeral services to be held at Bethel Mennonite Church on Wednesday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Springstein Mennonite Cemetery. Viewing prior to the service.
