HELEN LOUISE LUY (nee TODD) It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mom and nana, Helen Luy, at the age of 80 years. Remaining to forever cherish Helen's memory are her husband Ed, the love of her life; children Dawn (Len), Gord, Barb (Bruce), Daryl; daughter-in-law Theresa; grandchildren Ryan, Heather (Rich), Agnes, Robyn, Eddie, Garry, Matt and Chris; sister, Teresa Todd; sisters-in-law, Chessie Todd, Cassie Barnes and Virgie Flett; brother-in-law Don Luy as well as many nieces and nephews. Helen was born on January 8, 1931, in Winnipeg. After high school, she worked at the Royal Bank, until she met and married the man of her dreams. Her world revolved around her family, always insuring we had everything we needed, and that we were surrounded by love, security and laughter. Mom taught us many lessons in life. She was gentle yet strong, patient and playful, honest and loyal, and showed us that the simple things in life can be the most important. Most recently, Mom and Dad celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. She was proud to be Dad's wife and our mom and nana. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place, Winnipeg, MB with Rev. Fr. Mark Tarrant, presiding. Our family wishes to express our deep appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Centre, for their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's name to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. We will remember Helen's beautiful smile and bright blue eyes forever. We are content in knowing that she is now at peace. Until we meet again.
