HJALTI PALSSON November 27, 1935 August 10, 2011 Peacefully, on Wednesday August 10, 2011 Hjalti Palsson passed away at the Arborg District Hospital. Hjalti is survived by his step-sons Brent Erlendson (Kari, Joel, Dayna, step-sons Tanner, and Parker), Curtis and Brenda Erlendson (Amber), Darcy Erlendson and Candace (Keira), brothers Pall, Larus, Oli, Siggi and Victor Palsson, sisters Sigga (Rob)Tait and Inga Doll, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Larus and Elin, sister Beatrice, sisters-in-law Margaret and Sigurros. Hjalti grew up on the family farm, working alongside his parents and brothers, in their mixed farming operation. Later, he and his brothers Oli, Siggi, and Victor took over the farm and successfully expanded its operation. Family was always important to Hjalti. He enjoyed attending the boys' hockey practises and games; he was always proud of all their accomplishments. Hjalti liked people, and cultivated many friendships with his kind-hearted, gentle ways. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to a neighbour or community event. He enjoyed socializing, which would include good conversation, current affairs and debate. His sense of humour and good-natured teasing was shared freely. Country living and farm life was what Hjalti loved. JUST BE YOU Goda Nott A service of remembrance will be held on Friday August 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Geysir Community Hall. Private interment will have taken place prior to the service.
