MARY (MITZI) NORMA TOEWS August 15, 1931 August 16, 2011 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mitzi Mary Norma Toews (née Reimer) wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Remaining behind to forever cherish Mitzi's memory, are her husband Len the love of her life, her children, Gerry (Donna), Karen (Charles) Enns and Bryan (Andree), her seven grandsons Kurtis (Tiffany), Patrick, Jonathan, David, Christopher, Stephen and Jeffrey and her great-grandchildren Madison and Ryker. She is also survived by seven brothers and sisters; Evelyn (John), Lenore, Len, Stan (Joan), Ken (Peggy), Bill (June), and Joan (Larry), brother-in-law Ron (Tina), sister-in-law Laura, and many nieces and nephews. Mom touched all who knew her with her kind and gentle spirit. She was a strong woman of quiet intelligence and integrity. She demonstrated many talents and a willingness to tackle any task. No job was too tough for her; whether it be driving the combine or the grain truck or preparing a delicious meal at the end of the long harvest day. She was our dad's loving partner, who walked with him every step of the way for their 57 years together. She was his Sparky who gave him advice and guidance along the way. She was a loving mother, who doted on her children and was always there to comfort them. She encouraged them to always do their best in whatever they tried. She absolutely adored her seven grandsons and was adored by them in return. She especially enjoyed sharing their many achievements and successes. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfield Drive in Steinbach, MB on Friday, August 19, at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. There will also be viewing at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Mennonite Church, 430 Third St., Steinbach, MB with interment at Heritage Cemetery. Our family wishes to express our sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach for compassionate care and dedication. Special thanks to Dr. Karen Toews for her kind and gentle way with our Mom.
