Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALFREDO DACO GANADEN It's a great sorrow to announce the passing of our dad, Mr. Alfredo Daco Ganaden who passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital on August 17, 2011 at 7:15 p.m. Alfredo is survived by his children; daughter Zenaida (David) Bjornson, sons Jerry (Susie), Ric (Gloria), Freddie (Alma), Rey (Lizette) and Ben (Lisa), grandchildren; Bobby (Mary), Navarro, Bernice (Michael), Valerie (Joe), Paul, Jon Paul Sacha, Rachel, Chelsea, Jessica, Jericho, Chase and Capri. Great-grandchildren; Cole, and twins Alyssa and Mia. Our father attended University of the Philippines. He was a businessman in Baguio City, Philippines. Dad, jointly with our mom, managed a very successful construction company, school supplies, beauty parlour and a taxi business which enabled them to put all their children through university. Dad enjoyed playing the piano (he learned to play by ear), watching boxing, basketball and tennis on TV. Dad was a very gifted painter both recreational painting as a hobby, and commercial sign painting, painting portraits of Queen Elizabeth, Wayne Gretzky and Pope John Paul the second and beautiful landscape pieces. Dad was a very smart, hard working man who provided well for his children. He worked many years of his life in our taxi business in the 1960s and the 1970s, and as a sign painter in the 1980s and 1990s. Dad was very firm, simple, no nonsense, and always used his common sense type of a man. Our family extends our special thanks to Maria and the staff at St. Joseph for consistently informing us of dad's condition and the staff who provided dad the best care possible, and has given dad the utmost respect and restored his dignity during dad's most challenging months of his life. A special thanks to Ian and the staff at Heritage Lodge. Ian took dad under his wing and helped dad in his transition to the nursing home involving dad in several outings and kept him active. Also, thank you to mom and dad's friends, Mrs. Cleofas and company at Garden City for their continued support in their prayers. Goodbye Dad and thank you for giving us life. We will forever miss you. Lamay will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011, 6:00 p.m. - midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street.
