GLADYS VICTORIA GARLINSKI (nee MILLER) It is with very heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mom and granny, at the age of 88 years, (a few days short of her 89th birthday). Gladys was predeceased by her husband Stanley in 1962, her beloved mother Agnes in 1981, father Harry in 1962, brothers Horace in 1989, Leonard in 1944 and Percy in 1996. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Dolores and sons Gerald and Marty. She will be very sadly missed by grandchildren Justin, Holly, Graham, Cody and Angel. Mom was born in Brandon in 1922. Mom was very proud of her family's military history. Her brother Leonard was killed in action during the Second World War. Mom served as a Veteran in the Women's Corp. Mom loved and held close to her heart her family. She did a fine job of raising up three children on her own. She enjoyed the small pleasures of life. Mom loved good home cooked meals and was famous for her Mother's soup , which everyone loved. She revelled in watching her soaps (Coronation Street and East Enders) and reading through her papers and flyers was a great past time. Despite having a very hard life you could always find her in good spirits. She was the best Mom and Granny ever. A private funeral service will be held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel with Reverend Don McIntyre officiating. Interment will be held in Brookside Cemetery. Donations if desired may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 9Z9.
