KENNETH F. JEFFRIES With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Kenneth F. Jeffries on August 9, 2011 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were held on August 11 at Congregation Etz Chayim, 123 Matheson Avenue, Winnipeg. The younger of two sons, he was predeceased by his parents, Phil and Ray Jeffries, and brother Wilfred. He leaves to rejoice in his memory his loving partner Dori Pontila, a sister-in-law Carole Jeffries, nephew Mark (Elvira) and niece Paula, as well as cousins and friends. Born in Winnipeg on December 6, 1943, Ken worked for Imperial Oil in Edmonton, Alberta, after finishing his MBA and CA degrees. He came back to Winnipeg and worked for his parents' business, Central Dental Supply, together with his brother. A devoted sports fan, Ken never missed a home game of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and also enjoyed watching hockey and golf. He played golf in his younger years. He curled with his dad and his brother. He was an aircraft pilot. An avid fan of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Ken took special joy in trips to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. In recent years, he took up ballroom dancing. We wish to thank all the doctors and nurses in attendance during his hospitalization. Friends who wish to do so, are invited to make a donation to their favourite charity in his memory.
