Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN BARBARA KELLAS Peacefully on August 13, 2011 Jean passed away at the Victoria General Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 89 years. She was born in Winnipeg on December 21, 1921. Jean was predeceased by her parents Archie and Mary, her brothers and sisters-in-law John, Archie (Shirley), Bill (Ruth) and nephews Ken and Jack. Left to mourn her loss are her beloved sister, Margaret, nieces Darryl-Lynn (Doug), Kerry (Dave), nephews Bill (Linda), Craig (Diane), and Vance all of Winnipeg and Bill in Quebec, as well as her sister-in-law Marie and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Left also to grieve are Dorothy Timms from Calgary, many friends too numerous to mention and the residents of Shalom Gardens, especially Rose, Gerald and Don. Jean was employed by the T. Eaton Co. for over 45 years. She was known to be a loyal, highly trusted employee who was honest and fair with everyone. Jean was also a long-time member of the Eaton's retirement club. Jean was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 60 years, originally joining Mizpah Chapter #14 and then Queen Winnipeg Chapter #1. Jean loved going on vacation to visit her many friends in various places, but particularly enjoyed her trips to California to visit her good friend, Caroline Smith. Jean was a loving, kind and giving sister, aunt and friend who will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on 4 South of the Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate care of their loved one. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division or a charity of your choice. In accordance with Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place.
